Soul in Siloam

My soul’s in Siloam

My mind is at home

Body in office

Where my voice’s softest

Whispered words affirm

Laughing I confirm

“You are doing well”

They don’t ask, don’t tell

How my thoughts scream, yell

Dark I can’t dispel

Dazed, like in a spell

Can’t stumble, but fell

Walk the line, entwined

Bind, blind, find I’m fine

But I’m not. I’m not.

I have tried and fought

My thoughts are chilling

So I try, willing

to chill, spilling out

And spout my dark thoughts

My spine, soul line, taught

Is it fate that fates

I fought, but I face

with fury fraught, wrought

But for all I’ve taught

I can’t grieve, can’t seize

This dark disease, please

Deliver me free

So I suffer, seethe

Search the night to breathe

Something to believe

In midnights solace

I find my solstice

My balance in the

dark and light in me

When the demons doze

And my thoughts have slowed

To myself I tell

“You’re doing so well”

Midnight tolls, I smile

I’m fine for a while

Body and soul home

Dreaming of Siloam.
