Wishing for Spring

pink flower field

My breath plumes in my face

A by product of living

Like winter is a byproduct of life

A time of cold

A time of wasting

A time of death

A time of sadness

Soon the snow will melt

The ground will thaw

The Earth will warm

At Sol’s radiant hearth

Heart full of happiness

Relieved to see Earth colorful again

Flowers bloom slow and frivolous

Life starting fresh

Life striving freely

Life’s thriving tree leaves

Shading, protecting, soothing

How I long to gaze through those leaves

How I long to ensconce myself

In the oxygen of nature

And I’m back in the present

Staring at my exhale

Staring at the byproduct

Dreaming of Spring to come
