Falling in Fall

Beautiful Autumn forest background

Fall leaves scattered

Orange, golden, green

My heart was in tatters

But you bought it sight-unseen

Vacant but succubus squatters

Halloween in tow

But the costumes hide the slaughter

Twilight’s lingering slowed

But our hearts beat faster

Terror at the unknown

Life headed for disaster

But discussions over the phone

You invaded my dreams

Evaded my schemes

We fought and screamed

Found our trigger themes

Now our love will life long suffice

Endearing, tender, and nice

Like flannel sweaters and pumpkin spice

Like Thanksgiving Turkey and pies

When Winter comes we’ll be safe and warm

We fear no Freddy, Jigsaw, or Jason

World be warned

It’s our love and dreams we’re chasin’.
