Today I watched you crawl for the first time
You did so with the speed of life
Slowly inching along
Yet still you crossed the room in a flash
The dishes pile up in the sink
The floor needs swept
But I can’t take my eyes off of you
If I did, you’d surely be playing with something you shouldn’t
But I’d also miss these moments
The firsts, the lasts,
The first time you crawled
The last time you couldn’t reach that toy
Like time, you crawl on
Slow, yet way too fast
